Going, Going, GONE!!

I can't believe it but the house is gone! This little cottage home is no more. It was very sad to think about all the history of this home and to see it laying in ruins at the end of the day. They tore it down on Tuesday morning at 7am. No, neither Patrick nor I were there for the destruction. They filmed it for that TV show and we decided that we had had our fill of being reality tv stars. (ha-ha!) Plus, these days 7am is just really too early for me and the kids!
We'll close on the lot this week and then permits need to be issued and the lot divided. We'll break ground on our dream home sometime early next month!
Sidenote: Notice the front door, Patrick bought it at the demo auction! This is not a good picture of it, sorry. We hope to use it someplace in the new home as it is original to this home, built in 1922.
Double sidenote: I bought a very cute little stained glass window that is on the back side of the house, too hard to see in this picture. Patrick never told the builder to save it for me so it was demolished with the house (see how that works!).

Here's a picture from the back. We hope they will be able to save that big tree in the middle of the picture. It's an oak tree, the backyard is covered in acorns!

Here's the house after the demo. This picture was taken around 4:30pm. There was only 1 lonely little dumpster in the driveway! Sorry the picture is so bad we stayed in the car. I didn't want to roll down the window to take the picture, so scared of the dust!
